The Bee Rescuer

Director's Note
I first crossed paths with Amit Godse during the Jagriti Yatra, a meeting facilitated by my fellow travellers. Amit's unique line of work immediately captured my interest, and a brief Google search unveiled a captivating journey. Inspired by this encounter, I was compelled to encapsulate his story in a short film, shedding light on the lesser-known realm of bees, which became a paramount objective following the Yatra.
Subsequently, an episode of the 'Black Mirror' series, depicting robotic bees pollinating fields, resonated deeply. This ominous glimpse into the future is a grim prospect if current trends continue. The alarming decline of bees, bumblebees, and other pollinators, attributed to escalating pesticide use, has raised red flags. Honey bees, in particular, retain their status as the world's primary food crop pollinators and hold significant economic importance.
This ignited a 14-month production journey, commencing in February 2018. The filming process unfolded sporadically and unexpectedly, reinforcing my realisation that urban India possesses limited awareness concerning the imperative to conserve honey bees.
